  1. Wishful Wednesday

Wishful Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Bluestocking at The Bluestocking Guide.

I hear so many good things about Graceling by Kristin Cashore.
    Want, want, want!

    From GoodReads.com:
Katsa has been able to kill a man with her bare hands since she was eight--she's a Graceling, one of the rare people in her land born with an extreme skill. As niece of the king, she should be able to live a life of privilege, but Graced as she is with killing, she is forced to work as the king's thug.

When she first meets Prince Po, Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change. She never expects to become Po's friend. She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace--or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away . . . a secret that could destroy all seven kingdoms with words alone.

Graceling was definitely one of the top books I read in 2009, I really hope you get your hands on and enjoy it soon. Fire, the newest book the author has, is excellent too; they're dead even for which one I like better though, I could never choose! Enjoy!

I just read Graceling this year and adored it! It is one of my all time favorites. Get your hands on a copy but I recommend getting the UK cover if you're buying it because it is much much better than the US one. You can see my love for Graceling in my new avatar. Yes, I'm a dork/nerd, whatever you want to call it.

Personally, I didn't care for Fire as much. It was good, but compared to Graceling...well, I didn't think if fared well at all. I preferred Graceling so much better because the heroine was this kick-butt assassin warrior and Fire was more of the mind game girl. So when the need for action came up, she wasn't a part of it, the guy went out to fight the villains. So my greater love for Graceling stems from my personal preference for an action/fighting heroine, not the quality of the writing.

Sorry, long 'blah blah blah' but Graceling gets my heart pumping!

    5. Oh, i just got the EBook version of this...I'm so excited! I cant wait to read it! *smiles* Ive heard really good things about it as well!
