I got home from a long shift at work today to find this delightful package from Nancy who runs the fantastic blog Tales of the Ravenous Reader. Nancy hosted a great zombie themed contest for Halloween.

If you cannot tell clearly from the photo, I recieved:
    Generation Dead by Daniel Waters
Never Slow Dance With A Zombie by E. Van Lowe (ARC)
    Zombie Blondes by Brian James
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith
    Breathers: a zombie's lament by S.G. Browne

And let's not forget the zombie mints with brain flavour! They taste... slightly disturbing. A kind of meaty taste. I have been sharing them around the house with some great mixed reactions.

A massive thanks to Nancy for hosting her zombie competition and for sending this awesome prize my way. Such a great selection of zombie books! How can I possibly choose which to read first?

Furthermore, looking at the prices on some of these books, Aussies pay so much more for books in comparison to prices in the US. Hence why I heart the Book Depository. As I understand it, we pay a lot more for video games too.

I think that I have recovered from November now. I have some job applications (eeek!) to work on but I will try to get my review of Blue Noon by Scott Westerfeld written up tomorrow.

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. Go here to find out more.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is pretty interesting, I read it over the summer.
I've been wanting to read Generation Undead for a while, can't wait to read your review of it. :)

What a wonderful package to receive at the end of a long day! Zombies aren't quite my thing, but there are some intriguing titles there, and I have no doubt that you'll enjoy them all. :)

Having mints described as 'brain flavor' is a little scary, sort of the way I wondered who the poor tester for the Bertie Botts Beans was in determining exactly what 'boggey', 'puke', and some of the other nasty flavors really should be. ;)

I just ordered Pride and Prejudice and Zombies as a Christmas gift for my Media Center. I really can't get into zombies myself. Dead and rotting, eww! But I do hope that you enjoy all of your zombie books.

    4. I love the zombie craze right now. I think it's fun. Great pack to win!

I'm curious to hear what you thought of Blue Noon. I really liked that series. I understood why it had to end the way it did but not what I wanted! :)

    5. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies seems so interesting! Enjoy!

    6. Oh - meaty mints? OOH.... LOL Great reads!

    7. Zombie mints! We had those when we discussed Pride and Prejudice and Zombies last month at my bookclub at work. They most definitely taste...interesting. Very off after-taste. What excellent zombie goodies! Happy reading!

    8. I just love the titles of these zombie books -- they're hilarious. :-) By the way, your blog is gorgeous.

    9. I'm not really into zombies either but I did pick up World War Z recently so we'll see! Congrats on winning the contest.

I gave your blog an award! Read about it here:

    10. Lucky girl! After you're done with these, get World War Z (if you haven't already..."

      Happy reading!

PolishOutlander, oh, yeah. The after taste was in particularly freaky and stuck around for a long while. One of my brothers friends happily ate the zombie mint I offered him today and didn't mind the taste. I am loving them as a bit of a social experiment at the moment.

Laughing Stars, thank you! I'm glad that you like it.

Jamye fictionfanatic, thank you so much for the award!

Rhiannon, I have had World War Z since it was pretty new out and I have had the Zombie Survival Guide for just as long too. My brother has nicked them to read at the moment but the plan is to reread and review them when I get them back from him. I have plenty of other books to get through in the meantime. I started on Generation Dead last night.

    12. Thanks for all the zombie picks. It will help me when buying Jake's Xmas gift.
