Earth Hour started in Sydney, Australia in 2007. That year 2.2 million people took part. Now Earth Hour is a global event with hundreds of millions of participants all over the world. Earth Hour 2010 is only a little over two hours away (for me anyway) but it is not too late to sign up and plan some great activities with your friends and family. Maybe now is the time for you to make a new resolution to help the environment and minimise your "footprint"! Fill the hour by having getting your family all together and talking about your day, perhaps play a board game by candlelight, or head outside and take advantage of (hopefully!) fewer lights running in your area to gaze at the stars.
My fellow Aussie's can click on the banner below to register your pledge to switch off all of your lights and electrical appliances around your home for the hour. If you live internationally, please go here to register. Earth Hour is organised by WWF. Go to their website to learn more about the organisation.
I hope you all have a lovely evening unplugged.

Glad my country also took part on this one. our earth needs some 'time'.
There wasn't much about this in my country as there was in the past. Interesting...
I signed up for this! Can't wait to join you. :]
